(Author's Drawing-watercolor) a Desert Livingroom, Patio and Pool

The ruins of King Djedefre's Pyramid site, which lies about 18 Km to the north of King Cheops Pyramid Site. King Djedefre is the son of Cheops. It was most likely King Djedefre who constructed the Great Sphinx nearby his father's pyramid. Djedefre also had constructed the two Solar Boats buried at the site of his father's pyramid, which could be used by his father in his after-life. The Sphinx may have originally been sculpted portraying Djedefre's face, so that he could stand as the guardian of his father's tomb site. Illustration from the coming book "EGYPT THE PROMISED LAND"

On the Egyptian Giza Plateau, in the background the pyramid of King Chephren, in the foreground the pyramid of King Mycerinus. Neither of these pyramids existed in the time setting of the Author's story, "EGYPT THE PROMISED LAND" which takes place just after King Cheop's great pyramid had been completed. The story deals with the time of Cheop's son, King Djedefre who was certainly the King who had constructed the Great Sphinx which has stood for more than six thousand years as the guardian of the Giza Pyramid Site.
